Charles Schwab temporarily closes his office and offers virtual services

LAKELAND, FL – Charles Schwab, a full-service investment services firm, recently opened a new independent branch in Lakeland, but due to coronavirus-related health issues it is operating differently than usual, the company.

The Lakeland branch, located at 6419 S. Florida Ave., has temporarily closed its building to the public, however, the financial institution continues to offer comprehensive support to customers virtually during the coronavirus pandemic.

The branch encourages customers and non-customers to contact the branch at 863-450-3272.

“Given the current environment, people have a lot of questions about how to approach their finances and investments, so it is more important than ever to make help and advice available to Lakeland,” said Lydia Boyd, Branch Manager. “While we are temporarily unable to meet clients in person, we remain focused on Schwab’s commitment to championing individual investors and providing them with the help and resources they need.”

Schwab said he was monitoring information and advice provided by local, state and federal CDC officials and would communicate any updates or changes to in-person access to branches as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, in addition to contacting the Lakeland branch directly for virtual assistance, Schwab customers can also engage with the company through its website at, the online chat and the Schwab mobile app.

Once the Lakeland branch reopens to public access, Boyd plans to run free educational investment workshops, which are available to Schwab clients, as well as the public.
