Eau Claire Virtual School Accepts Second Semester Waiting List Submissions | School

CLEAR WATER (WQOW) – If you are looking for an alternative learning environment for your child, Eau Claire Virtual School is now accepting waitlist submissions for the spring semester starting in January 2022.

Principal Laura Schlichting said last year that the virtual school accepts students from grades 4 to 12 and has 45 students. This school year, there are approximately 190 students enrolled in Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Now, administrators create a waiting list where families who wish to register their children can be contacted if a place becomes available.

“We have families with us who choose us for health and safety reasons due to the pandemic and we certainly understand that,” Schlichting said.

“We have students joining us for social and emotional reasons. We have students joining us where virtual learning is really the best way to learn. And so we’re just another option besides our brick and mortar buildings. “

Schlichting said if some students wanted to return to in-person learning next semester, then it would open seats in the spring.

Any student who resides in Wisconsin can submit a submission for the waiting list for the next semester. Open registration is available and you do not have to reside in the Eau Claire area school district.

These limited places will be available on a first come, first served basis, and administrators have already started seeing applications.

Families will begin to be notified in December if a place is open.
