SLT-MOBITEL partners with “The Creative Isle” to launch a virtual interactive marketplace for micro and small entrepreneurs – Adaderana Biz Français

SLT-MOBITEL, the national ICT solutions provider, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Creative Isle (Pvt) Limited (TCI) to create an interactive virtual marketplace for micro and small entrepreneurs. The merger will help these entrepreneurs take advantage of digital platforms, enabling them to showcase their unique products to a wider local and global audience.

Through this collaboration, SLT-MOBITEL will provide the concept, design, expertise and technological infrastructure necessary to create the platform as a technology partner. TCI, as the founders of the weekend market, will be the event organizer, promoter and host of the virtual market under its brand, including all aspects relating to sellers, buyers and resulting transactions made through this support. The virtual marketplace will prove to be a key gateway in helping these entrepreneurs transcend geographic barriers and connect with buyers and sellers.

SLT-MOBITEL is involved in many initiatives to support micro, small and medium enterprises. However, SLT-MOBITEL understands that due to the prevailing difficult environment, these companies find it difficult to reach consumers directly through events such as trade shows.

Prabhath Dahanayake, Director of Marketing, SLT said “We witnessed The Creative Isle’s initiative to hold weekly trade shows for this community at the start of Covid-19, and saw it as a bold idea with potential social and economic benefits that matched to our core value of creating links between people, communities and businesses ”.

Speaking on behalf of TCI, the founder, Keshini Ann Suraweera said, “The Creative Isle operates a weekend physical form market to support island-wide micro-entrepreneurship that takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the One Galle Face Mall. The virtual interactive platform created by SLT will become an extension of the physical experience so that sellers and buyers can meet online and engage in transactions ”.

With a focus on sustainable and community-driven businesses, the weekend market will feature quality export home and lifestyle products, fashion accessories, artisan food products, herbal teas and herbal teas. Ayurvedic cosmetics, soaps and perfumes, etc. providing a platform for creative entrepreneurs to present their innovative products and services to B2C and B2B buyers.
