The College of the Navy program will switch to virtual services

SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 – The Naval College program has announced a full transition to virtual education services for sailors around the world effective October 1, 2021.

The transition will shift counseling to Sailors from the physical Navy College (NCO) offices to the Navy College Virtual Education Center (NCVEC) as a one-stop-shop for Sailors seeking personal and professional development opportunities.

This virtual model proved its worth in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic closed the doors to many OCONUS non-commissioned officers. Throughout 2020 and 2021, Sailors turned to NCVEC for virtual educational guidance and Tuition Assistance (TA) support. NCVEC offers calls and live chat with advisors during scheduled hours, and Sailors can use the automated Chatbot feature on the Navy College website or leave a question or have an advisor call them back using Issue Tracker. in MyNavy Education.

Roy Suber, an educational advisor from Navy College Virtual Education Center (NCVEC), helps a Sailor over the phone with his education needs. The College of the Navy program counselors are available to assist Sailors on their educational journey by calling the MyNavy Career Center toll-free phone number 24 hours a day: 1-833-330-MNCC. To access NCVEC, select “Education and Training”, then “NCVEC”.

“Sailors interested in pursuing educational opportunities outside of duty hours will continue to have access to a wide range of virtual services,” said Lt. Cmdr, Director of Naval Volunteer Education (VOLED). Adam Walski. “Most importantly, services will not be interrupted for those who need educational assistance or advice anywhere in the world.”

The non-commissioned officers making the transition to virtual services are: Rota, Spain; Sigonella, Italy; Naples, Italy; Bahrain; Misawa, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; Atsugi, Japan; Sasebo, Japan; Okinawa, Japan; Guam; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

The academic institutions currently aboard Navy bases, CONUS and OCONUS, will remain in place and continue their current role in providing seafarers with quality education.

Commanders and education services officers can expect to receive the same level of customer service as any Sailor in the Naval College program world. The AT and Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE) programs will not change, and any further assistance will be provided by NCVEC upon request.

Along with the announcement of the transition to virtual services, the Naval College program announced an update to the NCVEC phone number. All NCVEC customers will now use the MyNavy Career Center (MNCC) toll-free number, 1-833-330-MNCC. The transition to the MNCC’s toll-free number supports the transformational efforts of the Chief of Naval Personnel to provide a single source for all Navy human resource needs, and to provide a global toll-free number for Sailors have 24/7 access to VOLED services.

“We believe the transition to the MNCC number will simplify the process for sailors who are ready to take the next step in their education goals,” said Walski. “Not only will this be part of a one-stop-shop for other services, including Navy COOL and USMAP, but it will be particularly beneficial for our Sailors stationed outside the Americas, as they can call anytime, at no cost to them. “

After calling the toll-free number, seafarers requiring educational services such as TA and NCPACE should select the “Training and Education” option, then “NCVEC”.
